SIS MENTORSHIP 

Choosing a path to follow in secondary school is hard for most students. What if I dont want to do maths for the rest of my life? What if I don't get a job with my degree in languages? Those are questions that most students have and we helped to ease their anxiety and fear by inviting various professionals to speak on their experience and an expert to teach students how they can prepare their future. 

Youth unemployment is real in Burundi, and it is hitting harder young women. So, entrepreneurship is the new thing that will have you doing something you love for the rest of your life and putting some money in your bank account. Through financial literacy and project designs classes, we helped our students acquire the skills and the network they need to turn their passion into a lucrative business.   

Government scholarships are not easy to get, but there are plenty other opportunities that can help you secure a scholarship to study at a prestigious university. Technology has made access to information easy and we taught our participants how to find such opportunities, prepare for them and send through their applications.  

Teen pregnancy, menstrual cycles, dating, exercising, etc. We talked about it all. There is no taboo topic between sisters and good information is what will help us protect each other.  We encourage young girls to take care of their mental, emotional, and physical well-being through exercise and self-care.
